Let me start by saying that I love covering space news and I will continue to do it, regardless of donations here. I am so driven by a passion for all things aerospace that I can easily forgo sleep for 24-36 hours, drive across the country nonstop, and/or spend hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars in pursuit of a single shot. There is a special level of intrinsic motivation that comes with doing this that I seldom experience with anything else, and I mean to chase that feeling.
That said, a donation means that I can expand the number of events I cover, and that I can cover them better by renting or upgrading my equipment.
100% of every contribution goes towards the many expenses involved with covering breaking space news – gas money, air fare, hotels, food, equipment rentals and upgrades.
I'm lucky in that I get to do what I want to do, but the catch is that it doesn’t yet pay the bills. I have structured my entire life around doing what I love, and that includes working as a freelancer and often remotely. It includes scraping by at times, looking for work with flexible hours or waiting on paychecks that always seem to be late. I plow nearly all disposable income from my day jobs back into my spaceflight coverage. This is all by choice, and I will continue to choose to do so - but now, if you want, you can help me out.
